Chambers Recognizes Longford Capital Among Top Litigation Finance Firms for Ninth Consecutive Year
Five Longford team members ranked as nationwide leaders
CHICAGO, June 25, 2026 - Longford Capital has once again been ranked among Chambers and Partners’ top litigation finance firms in its annual Litigation Support Guide – the ninth consecutive year the firm has earned this distinction. Chambers also recognized five Longford professionals as top litigation finance practitioners nationwide: co-founder and managing director Mike Nicolas, managing director Russ Genet, director Andrew Stulce, senior advisor Cindy Ahn, and, newly added to the list this year, director Marc Cavan.
“Nine consecutive years of Chambers recognition is a testament to the caliber of the professionals we’ve assembled and the trust our clients and partners place in us,” said Bill Farrell, co-founder and managing director, Longford Capital. “Our mission has always been to ensure that the strength of a claim is what determines the outcome of litigation. We’re proud to stand alongside the world’s most skilled litigators and innovators in pursuit of that goal.”
Chambers’ rankings are grounded in a rigorous evaluation process that weighs quantitative factors – including total capital under management, fund structure, investor quality, management strength, and investment track record – alongside direct client feedback and qualitative assessments from industry peers.
Mike Nicolas has been recognized by Chambers every year since the publication’s inaugural Litigation Support Guide in 2018, a distinction that reflects his standing as one of the most respected figures in the litigation finance industry. An accomplished attorney with more than 15 years of experience representing corporate clients in complex commercial disputes, Nicolas oversees portfolio management at Longford, including underwriting, investment selection, and the due diligence process. He is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences and a thought leader on the evolving landscape of commercial litigation finance.
Russ Genet, an accomplished attorney with nearly 20 years of experience, is responsible for investment sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring investments. He focuses on intellectual property actions, such as inter partes reviews, patent, trademark and copyright infringement, and theft of trade secrets. He was previously a partner at Nixon Peabody, where he led the firm’s IP Litigation Practice Group, representing corporate clients defending and monetizing intellectual property rights in a wide array of industries.
Marc Cavan is responsible for investment sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring of portfolio investments. With over 20 years of experience as an intellectual property litigation partner at Sidley Austin LLP, Ropes & Gray LLP, and Baker McKenzie LLP, among others, he has significant experience litigating patent and trade secret matters in federal courts throughout the U.S., before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Cindy Ahn, senior advisor to the firm, has dedicated her career to assisting companies in the licensing, sale, and enforcement of intellectual property rights across a broad spectrum of industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, bio-similars, electronics, computers, software, telecommunications, medical devices, and many others. As a former IP attorney at some of the country’s most prestigious law firms, she brings significant experience litigating complex intellectual property matters in federal courts throughout the U.S.
Andrew Stulce is responsible for investment sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring of portfolio investments. He has significant experience litigating complex antitrust and insurance recovery cases and has represented corporate clients in a range of commercial litigation matters, including fraud, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty matters.
